Goon & Nugz Festival
Food-truck park The Ascot Lot is hosting a festival in worship of “all things booze-in-a-box and cooked chook” – cask wine and chicken nuggets.
Who doesn’t love a nugget, or 10? Expect an array of options from four local food trucks. You might get flavours such as sweet miso or Szechuan, or a nugget-y riff on poutine or nachos. There’ll be vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free alternatives too.
At the goon bar, indulge in your favourite cask varietal, “goontails” (think Fruity Lexia with watermelon and mint or passionfruit and mango) and craft beer. There’ll also be DJs and acoustic acts, a nugget-eating competition and a $50 bar tab for the best goon- or nugget-inspired costume. Dress to impress.
