If you’ve been looking to pick up a new hobby, this walking film photography tour – which ends with cocktails and snacks at Beneath Driver Lane – could be just the thing.

See Melbourne through a whole new lens, thanks to a partnership between Broadsheet, The Glen Grant and Film Never Die. Guided by expert photographers from Film Never Die, a photography space, workshop and store based on Watertank Way in the CBD, you’ll learn how to use a film camera to get the best possible shots of your city. As well as being free to attend, the event includes free camera hire for the afternoon, a roll of film, free developing and scanning, and snacks and a cocktail.

The first course was on August 5, with the next taking place on October 7. It’s in Melbourne’s CBD, with a focus on cityscape photography. Your guide will be on hand throughout the entire afternoon, answering any questions and helping you achieve the best outcome from each shot.

The tour will finish up with a cocktail to toast an afternoon of hard work at Beneath Driver Lane. Hosted by The Glen Grant, you can also expect plenty of paired snacks alongside the drink.

The tour is set to be intimate afternoons, with a strict cap of 30 guests. Participation is free but registrations are essential. The tour begins at 3pm at the Film Never Die store and finish at 5.30pm at Beneath Driver Lane.
