Gertrude Street Projection Festival is Back
This year marks the 10-year anniversary for Gertrude Street Projection Festival, and it'll be celebrating by transforming the popular Fitzroy street into a time capsule, projecting the notions of the past and present and how they shape the possibility of multiple futures.
The digital projections will be spread across 30 sites, such as alleys, shop windows, restaurants and building walls.
A free and ticketed special events program will run alongside the main event, including food, dance, and live performances from local musicians and DJs. This includes temporary artworks within the Atherton Gardens precinct and the return of the Festival Hub at Catfish.
Four Australian artists have been announced so far for this year's program: Yandell Walton, Ray Thomas, Susan Forrester and Jody Haines. They will join a long list of alumni including Ian de Gruchy, Nick Azidis, Lauren Dunn, Luzena Adams and Skunk Control.
The full program will be announced in late June.
Gertrude Street Projection Festival runs from July 21–30 along Gertrude Street, Fitzroy.
