Future Dreaming at The Torch Gallery
The Torch – an arts organisation supporting Indigenous offenders and ex-offenders in Victoria through prison and community programs – is hosting an inaugural exhibition Future Dreaming at its newly opened Carlton gallery space. Experience more than 250 works created by First Nations artists incarcerated across 14 correctional facilities across the state.
The artworks tackle themes including the Voice and its meaning to different artists; connecting with Culture and Country; learning from Elders; and life after getting out.
Pieces are priced between $230 to $330 with all sales (after a $30 canvas-stretching cost) going directly to artists – helping them earn an income, and build self-esteem and confidence. Artworks are also available to view and purchase online.
Tuesdays to Fridays 1pm to 5pm.
Saturdays 10am to 2pm.
