12:30pm–12:45pm
Regent Theatre, Collins Street, Melbourne

Later this month, opera comes out of the theatre and into the streets. To celebrate its 70th anniversary, Opera Australia is pulling out all the stops for a free lunchtime performance on the steps of the Regent Theatre. It’ll all go down on Wednesday April 29 at 12.30pm.
Two highly respected musicians – Melburnian Stacey Alleaume and Tongan Kiwi tenor Filipe Manu – will perform two pieces from Verdi’s La Traviata, accompanied by 17 musicians from Orchestra Victoria. Consider it a sneak peek before the pair star in Sarah Giles’s production of the masterpiece at the Regent Theatre from May 8 to 16.
Everyone who stops in to the lunchtime performance will be eligible for a monster 70 per cent discount on tickets to the premiere season of La Traviata.
