A popular Korean fried chicken chain – with 370 locations around the world – is giving away free wings for the launch of its first Australian diner.

We know and love Korean fried chicken – double-fried with a crisp outer layer and juicy meat, all coated with sticky sauce that’s usually a mix of sweet and salty. Now one of the world’s leading chains is bringing its own version to Australia.

Bonchon first opened in Busan, Korea, in 2002 and launched its first international location in the US in 2006 – now there are more than 370 worldwide.

Australia’s first taste has landed at Melbourne’s Craigieburn Central, and to celebrate the launch, the chain is giving away free fried chicken wings to diners who rock up on opening day, with three wings each per person.

You’ll get three pieces of the crunchy fried chook, which comes hand-brushed with either spicy or soy-garlic glaze. Also on the eatery’s menu: steamed chicken buns, dumplings, loaded kimchi fries, bulgogi (marinated grilled beef) and japchae (sweet potato glass noodles).

The giveaway runs from 2pm to 5pm.
