The ballroom of the Fitzroy Town Hall is being converted into a dance hall for the Fitz Ritz party. It's hosting music, food and drinks to raise money for The Fitzroy Learning Network (FLN).
The evening has six local acts lined up, including Gold Class offering their take on punk; all-girl rock band Mod Con, known for their scuzzy, old-school rock'n'roll doing a DJ set; and GL, with ‘80’s-esque pop-electro tunes.
To drink there'll be beers from Stomping Ground Brewery, wines from Pyren Vineyard and Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum drinks starting at $7.
FLN Caterers will be taking care of the grub; finger food plates will be going for $5. They include falafels and rice paper rolls.
Raffle prizes will be going throughout the evening; you can win drinks; record vouchers; and tickets to Boogie Festival and Pitch Music and Arts Festival.
All musicians, organisers and sponsors are donating their time, booze and talent for the event.
The Fitzroy Learning Network offers a place where refugees, asylum seekers and those in public housing can connect, feel safe and learn.
Starts at 7pm.
