Female Founders Festival
Like many Melburnians, attending pop-up markets is a favourite pastime for Ellen Weigall, founder of Australia’s first female-owned gin company. But she was disappointed by the lack of businesses founded by women represented at markets, so she decided to start one dedicated entirely to them.
In the first edition of the Female Founders Festival, there’ll be over 30 women-owned businesses offering a broad range of products such as food, alcohol, wellness items and clothing. Melbourne floral artist XX Flos, local fragrance label Roemy, online sex store Becumming, personal lube brand Figr, Turkish towel and textile maker Kobn are all making appearances alongside other businesses selling skincare products, gua sha tools, self-tan products, scented candles, apparel and more.
Coffee is being served in the morning and cocktails will be shaken from 12pm. A line-up of local female DJs will be spinning disks throughout the day from the mezzanine, and hairstylists are offering on-the-day hair-styling sessions.
The market is cashless and dog-friendly. Entry is free but registration is required to attend.
From 10am to 4pm.
