Europa Night Market
Starting April 10, the Queen Victoria Market will be hosting a European-themed night every Wednesday in the run-up to Eurovision in May.
There’ll be a smorgasbord of classic European dishes available: the Paddy Wagon will serve Guinness wings, lamb riblets and Irish stew; Copa Grill will have Portuguese barbecue; and Pierogi Pierogi will dish up Polish smoked sausage and cheese. Dutch, French, Greek, Italian, German and British food will also be available in the extensive line-up.
Visitors will be able immerse themselves in different cultural traditions, such as Polish and Ukrainian egg-dyeing for Easter. Each night will feature on-stage performances from a different country, including Spanish flamenco and Ukrainian hopak dancing.
For the final night market on May 8, visitors can get involved in Greek-style plate smashing and dance to zorba music, plus chow down on Greek street-food classics such as lamb off the spit, Greek doughnuts, and Greek bougatsa (a custard-filled breakfast pastry).
Entry is free, and food and drinks can be purchased. From 5pm to 10pm.
