Ela Greek Pop-Up at Gertrude Street Enoteca
Get ready to taste the Mediterranean because Greek pop-up restarant Ela is arriving at Gertrude Street Enoteca in January.
Ella Mittas and Mon Ditbunjong will be hosting a month of greek style feasts, drawing inspiration from summers by the Aegean Sea and Rembetiko the film. (If you haven't seen it, it's a classic.)
Live rembetiko music will also soundtrack the daily meals based on traditional Greek recipes from the Peloponnese, Crete, Cycladic islands and Northern Greece, including kleftiko, sfakian pie and desserts with Cretan thyme honey.
There'll also be ticketed late-lunches with set menus every Sunday, and Cold Fix beer, ouzo, biodynamic wines, and magnums of rosé to drink.
Ela opens on January 3 and will close at the end of the month.
Think of it as a well-deserved summer "staycation".
