Combining three mediums, 50 artists and writers from across Melbourne work together to explore channels of identity and narrative.

In the latest exhibition to land at No Vacancy Gallery, 25 writers, poets and songwriters have been anonymously paired with 25 visual artists. Together, they have explored avenues of identity and narrative in a series of new artworks and photographs.

Writers shared a sentence, lyric or scribble from their notebook as creative ammunition. Their paired artist was then given seven days to bring tangibility to their words. Shannyn Higgins, who heads the project, photographed the artists in their creative space, and these images are on display along with the two mediums. The show has already made waves at East Van Studios, Vancouver, and may soon be heading to Berlin.

Writers include Marieke Hardy, Chris Flynn, Bertie Blackman, Broadsheet's Leanne Clancey, Lior, Anthony Carew, Robbie Coleman, and artists include Unwell Bunny, Emma Leonard, Matthew Henry, A R I U M, Lucy Lucy, Tom Civil and more.

Duality: An Art Experiment opens between 7.30pm-11pm on Friday, and 11am-5pm on Saturday.
