Where better to practise the art of illustration than inside the art-swathed walls of an esteemed national gallery? If you consider yourself a dab hand at taking pencil to paper, here’s your chance to take your drawings to a new, and social, level at the NGV.
During January, sketching enthusiasts can spend their Sunday afternoons drawing among the inspiring works in the gallery alongside a throng of like-minded budding (and established) artists and illustrators.
The gallery’s returning Drop-by Drawing sessions will see local artists running the group sittings. Bookings are not required, so just drop by and collect paper, drawing boards and pencils there. It couldn’t be easier. But get there on time, because this popular event draws a crowd.
From 2pm to 4pm on Sundays in January.
