Postponed: Dog Lovers Show
This event has been postponed until November due to coronavirus concerns.
The Melbourne Dog Lovers Show is returning this May for its eighth year. The show will give everyone the chance to learn about different breeds, their wellbeing and their needs.
Expect more than 1000 dogs – and 120 different breeds. At the Pat-a-Pooch station you’ll be able to chill on bean bags and pat lots of friendly pooches. And the Bow Wow Meow Perfect Match Zone will be a hub of information for those looking for the right breed to match their lifestyle.
The outdoor arena will feature a high-jump competition, sheepdog speed trials and a K9 Ninja Challenge. Plus, competitive pooches will launch themselves into a 100,000-litre pool for a series of events, and a group of huskies will showcase their impressive sled-pulling (and -racing) skills.
If you’re in need of some dog-friendly goodies, beds, food, grooming and more will be available on the day from more than 250 exhibitors. Celebrity vet Dr Harry Cooper will hit the main stage, offering free educational advice for owners wanting to learn more about what makes their furry friends tick.
And if you're looking for a friendly companion, shelter dogs will be available for adoption.
For humans: there’ll be free doggy-inspired manicures and face painting, a prosecco bar, and 400 Gradi pizzas.
