Poodle Bar & Bistro is a contender for one of Melbourne’s best date spots. The double-decker haunt is full of cosy nooks, leather banquettes and gold velvet couches.
Equally stunning is the Fitzroy restaurant’s food and drink specials for Broadsheet’s Dine Out festival. To eat, there’s a snacky, sliced ox tongue sanga with fluffy white bread and peppery horseradish cream ($18), dreamt up by executive chef Emma Dawson.
To drink, try beverage director Alex Pineo’s new spin on the Manhattan. The Masterpiece features aged Michel Couvreur VJ whiskey and Cocchi Vermouth di Torino ($25). Both options are available 5pm–8pm, Tuesday, August 5 to Friday, August 10.
