Dine Out: Nico’s Deli x Goodwater Sandwich and Whiskey Menu

Northcote’s Goodwater, run by a team of industry veterans, was one of the best new bars of 2024. With a well-stocked back bar, switched-on service, supremely comfortable front room and breezy back yard, it’s one of our fave spots in the area for a drink and a snack.

For Broadsheet ’s debut Dine Out festival, the bar is bringing in the sandwich guns from Nico’s in Fitzroy, Brunswick East and the CBD. Booking is essential with only 35 seats available at 4pm or 6:30pm.

Your cash gets you four half sangas from Nico’s, including the popular Cubano and some special one-offs just for the event, plus a beer and whiskey selected by Goodwater. Not just any beer and whiskey, either. The bar is dusting off some of its rarest vintage American whiskeys for the day, and pouring beers from Red Hill Brewery and Belgium’s Rodenbach, revered worldwide for its wild-fermented lambics.
