Dine Out: Carnation Enoteca at Carnation Canteen

Brigitte Hafner and James Broadway are the experienced hands behind Red Hill’s Tedesca Osteria, one of the best restaurants in the state. Before that, they spent 17 years running the defunct Gertrude Street Enoteca, one of Fitzroy’s earliest wine bars and still one of the finest to have existed in the area.

For Broadsheet ’s inaugural Dine Out festival, the duo is returning to Fitzroy for a one-off dinner at Audrey Shaw’s serene corner spot Carnation Canteen. Shaw and Hafner will share the kitchen, cooking iconic dishes from the Enoteca archive, while wine guy Broadway works the floor.
