Dine Out: Bahama Gold Pizza and Wine Special

There’s nowhere in Melbourne like Bahama Gold, the tiny wine bar and shop attached to restaurant Old Palm Liquor. The venue launched during lockdown as a canteen-style bottle shop with a counter opening directly onto the footpath, allowing the party to spill right into the street.

The absurdly good value house wines – sometimes as low as $10 a glass – are made in collaboration with leading new-wave wineries. The ever-changing food menu references flavours and techniques from Europe, Asia and South Africa, and includes hand-rolled pastas, flatbreads, soups and tarts.

For one week of Dine Out, Bahama Gold is adding an Italian special to the menu. Enjoy a truffle and confit-egg-yolk white-base pizza, paired with a glass of radikon red or orange, for $65. Or skip the drink and opt for the porchetta pizza, with fried potato and salsa verde, for $45.
