Ripponlea restaurant Mission District typically serves “Cali-style” Mexican dishes – the type of food you’d likely find in the San Francisco neighbourhood it’s named after. During Dine Out, the team is running a limited-time menu that filters Mexican through a nostalgic Australian lens.
Chilli con carne is being served with hard-shell tacos and pack-it-yourself condiments – Taco Tuesday-style on a school night. Iced Vovo churros hark back to raiding the biscuit tin at your nan’s house. Fairy bread milk punch throws back to childhood parties. An optional shot of rum, tequila or Licor 43 does not. We’ll be opting for the latter. Only available during Dine Out.
