Nagesh Seethiah’s Mauritian wine bar is joining forces with the Johnston Street institution for a one-off à la carte menu featuring popular dishes from both venues – plus a few new hits.

Boire and Bar Liberty are two of Melbourne’s most exciting wine bars right now. The former because, as at older brother Manzé, owner-chef Nagesh Seethiah brings his Mauritian heritage to the table with flavours and ideas you can’t get anywhere else in town. The latter because chef Douglas Hoxley’s time at Andrew McConnell’s Cutler and legendary London restaurant St John has him working with interesting heirloom Italian vegetables (spigarello or Castelfranco, anyone?) and ditching familiar snacks like anchovy toast in favour of things like a date paired with pecan and crème fraîche.

For Broadsheet’s second Dine Out festival, the two are joining forces on a one-off à la carte menu that plays selected hits from each chef, and adds a few new ones. Walk-ins are accepted, but we strongly suggest booking for this one.
