An Evening With David Sedaris
Master of satire and formidable observer of life’s minutia David Sedaris is returning for a series of live shows in January 2020.
It’s the fifth time the New York-born humourist and critically acclaimed author has visited Australia (his previous four tours sold out) and he’ll be stopping in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Canberra.
It follows the release of his latest New York Times bestseller, Calypso, a darkly humourous collection of semi-autobiographical essays grappling with middle age and mortality. Calypso was also named a Washington Post Best Book of the Year in 2018 and the accompanying audiobook has been nominated for a Grammy in the Best Spoken Word Album category.
Whether you know him from NPR and This American Life, his regular pieces in the New Yorker or his acerbic personal essays and short stories, Sedaris’s live shows are a rare chance to absorb his signature storytelling and sharp wit in person, plus ask questions and get your books signed.
He will appear at Hamer Hall on Thursday January 16 and Friday January 17 from 7.30pm. Tickets go on sale Friday July 26 at 9am.
