On the last day of Midsumma Festival, you’re invited to a romantic evening of performance, conversation and cocktails.
Whether you’re planning a date night for a special someone or hoping to meet one in time for Valentine’s Day, do it in the resplendent surrounds of Heide’s Heart Garden. Arty attendees will be welcomed to the garden with a cocktail, before taking in a special performance by the Huxleys.
Will and Garrett Huxley have exhibited their ever-evolving collage of still and moving images, costume and performance everywhere from Rome and New York, to Berlin and London. The work of the Huxleys reflects the artists’ hyper-real world, and is similarly motivated by an ethos of glamorous, androgynous abandon.
Following the performance, ticketholders will be welcomed into Heide I, the beloved weatherboard home that Heide founders John and Sunday Reed first moved into in 1934. The exhibition, House of Ideas, showcases some of the best-known work from the Heide Collection by artists who were encouraged and supported by the Reeds – often within the cottage’s four walls.
What better way to spend a romantic Midsumma evening than by taking an exclusive tour of the work of Sidney Nolan, John Perceval, Arthur Boyd, Albert Tucker and Joy Hester in this incubator of artistic passions?
Tickets include a cocktail at the Heart Garden, a performance by the Huxleys and admission into Heide I exhibition House of Ideas.
