The Cricketer’s Bar Side Hustle
Both members of the Hotel Windsor family, Nabil Ansari (Sunda sous chef and the man behind refined Indian takeaway Ansari at Home) and Felix Goodwin (the pastry chef behind the hotel’s soon-to-open gluten-free bakery) are each doing what they do best at a weekend pop-up.
At the Hotel Windsor’s Cricketer’s Bar, Ansari will be dishing up hot, ready-to-eat Indian street food: duck samosas, cumin-y curry puffs, chicken-tikka rolls (on sourdough naan) with coriander chutney, shredded lamb with smoked yoghurt, and more. Plus, take-home packs of butter chicken and lamb rogan josh to heat and eat.
Goodwin will be serving coeliac-friendly caneles, cakes and other sweets. The two worlds collide in creations such as the soft-serve canele: a saffron and cardamom-infused canele “cone” filled with pistachio and almonds, and topped with mango lassi soft serve.
Takeaway drinks include banh chuoi milk punch with banana, coconut and clarified milk; a coconut Negroni; Aru’s umami Martini, and a Spring Street spritz with peach, yuzu and jasmine.
