Inside a 1940s building in the middle of the city, Natural History is a suave late-night American diner slash steakhouse slash caviar and oyster bar.
But for one night in April, the venue, which is fitted out like Manhattan’s Natural History Museum, will be trading its cutlery for hammers, and tablecloths for newspaper.
Crab Bash Smash is a traditional Southern-style crab boil-up complete with potatoes, corn, crusty bread and sausages.
Leave your table manners at the door, grab a bib and a hammer, and dig into a delicious blue swimmer crab. A “Crab Only!” ticket gets you your own crab – plus all the trimmings – and a “Crab and Booze!” ticket adds two hours of unlimited Pirate Life lager, Quealy pinot grigio and Blanc de Blanc sparkling.
Resident piano man Matt Ganin will be tinkering through his extensive repertoire, which spans Presley to Gaga, all night long.
From 7pm to 9pm.
