A Cooking Class with Julia Busuttil Nishimura x Providoor
Julia Busuttil Nishimura (aka Julia Ostro) is one of Australia’s most successful chefs, thanks to her spotlight on simple ingredients and clever use of seasonal produce. This May she’ll put that skill on literal display with a one-off online masterclass showcasing her handy ways with Italian cuisine.
The event comes in partnership with Providoor, the premium home delivery service that delivers chef-prepared dishes to your door to finish off on the home stove. All you have to do join in is purchase the class kit loaded with ingredients, then tune in to watch Busuttil Nishimura work her magic alongside Providoor founder and star chef in his own right, Shane Delia of Maha, as they take you through some of her favourite recipes.
Dishes on the agenda include pissaladière – a savoury, pizza-like tart featuring caramelised onions, salty black olives and anchovies – and handmade cavatelli pasta with Maltese sausage and cavolo nero. Busuttil Nishimura will also demonstrate a house salad with lemon vinaigrette and a sweet ricotta tart laced with Italian candied citrus and dark chocolate to finish.
Happening on Sunday 23 May at 1pm, the class goes for one hour. The class kit is $130 (serving 2-3 people) and includes all the elements and ingredients needed to cook along at home, including a wooden gnocchi board and fluted tart tin to keep. And yes, you can also add Julia’s books to your order.
Orders will close Thursday 20 May unless sold out prior. The kits arrive the day before the class on Saturday 22 May.
