Connoisseur Discovery Festival by Broadsheet
The feeling of uncovering a new fashion label, design trend, dish or cocktail is thrilling – especially when it can all be found under one roof.
On October 20, Connoisseur’s Discovery Festival, presented by Broadsheet, will transform North Melbourne’s Meat Market into a cornucopia of designers, artists, chefs and musicians. Those looking to be inspired, discover a new obsession or become an early adopter (don’t be ashamed) will find plenty in the way of fashion, art, design and food.
Local labels such as FME Apparel, Limb the Label and Molly Younger will showcase their wares, and Client Liaison’s 1980s-inspired athleisure wear is also up for grabs. You’ll be able to buy everything from linen jumpsuits and frill-neck lizard-print shirts to handmade, sculptural natural latex luggage.
Preston’s Plantsmith will bring all manner of flora with it and answer your queries about how to keep your purchases alive. Sustainable jewellery label RBCCA KSTR will also be on show, with pieces made from 100 per cent recycled materials.
In between browsing, take a break with some cold brew by Coffee Supreme, served either black or with their unique "naughty milk" (a mix of organic whole and sweetened condensed milk), drinks from The Everleigh Bottling Co., or get your nails done by Trophy Wife Nail Art while listening to some tunes. You should probably also sample one of Connossieur’s new ice cream cookies because, really, when has eating an ice-cream sandwich been a bad decision?
