The debut of a new festival held on a private island in regional Victoria will match fine wine with funnys from comedians both local and international.

Held on a private island in Nagambie, an hour and a half north of Melbourne, Comedy In the Vines will be housed on a unique festival site accessible via Hide and Seek Winery. Running over two days and two stages, Comedy In the Vines will see more than twenty comedy performances from a clutch of both international and high-profile local acts.

On Saturday November 11, British comedian performer and all-round personality Leigh Francis will headline proceedings, while the undercard features names like UK comedian Lloyd Langford, local stars in Nat’s What I Reckon, Tommy Little, Anne Edmonds, Geraldine Hickey, and many more. Then on Sunday November 12, guests will see an exclusive Australian performance by Keith Lemon (UK) and an exclusive set by Russell Kane (UK), alongside locals in Celia Pacquola, Rhys Nicholson, Dave Hughes, Becky Lucas, Merrick Watts and a live recording of the Bang On podcast with Myf Warhurst and Zan Rowe. Keep an eye out for DJs rounding out each day to close the deal.

As well as on-stage entertainment, there will be wine tents offering an array of fine drops from the surrounding region’s best wine producers, live cooking demonstrations, a Rosé and Relaxation Station, live podcast recordings and roving performers. Travelling punters can camp nearby thanks to the Nagambie Lakes Regatta Centre, and shuttle buses will run from both it, the Melbourne CBD and surrounding areas to ensure guests can partake of the wine offerings at their own leisure.

Day passes come in at $125, while weekend passes round out at $189 – you can also get four tickets for the price of three. See the full lineup, more details and book tickets.
