Club Havana at Nick & Nora’s

Celebrate the easing of restrictions with a Cuba-flavoured Sunday session in the city.

It wouldn’t be a speakeasy if it didn’t take a little effort to find. Tucked down a laneway off Little Collins Street, Nick & Nora’s opulent 1930s-style cocktail and champagne bar is the perfect spot to wrap up the weekend – especially now it’s launching Club Havana sessions every Sunday from 3pm ‘til late.

Secure yourself a seat at the 11-metre-long emerald bar, one of three terraces or a plush velvet booth, and settle in for the long haul. Begin with canapes of oysters, beef carpaccio, stracciatella and crudités, or a luxurious brioche lobster roll. Save room for the Havana Club cocktail specials – as a Speakeasy Group joint (home of Eau de Vie, Mjølner and Boilermaker House), you know the concoctions will be reliably opulent.

Get into the Club Havana spirit by ordering the Caribbean Cobbler: seven-year-old Havana Club rum paired with overproof rum, lime cacao, rooibos, guava, whey and choc bitters. Meanwhile, Club Havana DJs will throw down Cuban-style jazz, funk and soul until late, punctuated by live bands.

Club Havana at Nick & Nora’s runs every Sunday from 3pm ‘til late. Entry is free, bookings and walk-ins welcome.
