City Wine Shop Schnitzel Window

Starting October 9, Spring Street wine bar (and fancy bottle-o) City Wine Shop will be swinging open a takeaway window every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And the team will be serving a single menu item: loaded, picnic-perfect schnitzel rolls.

The schnitzel is a mainstay at City Wine Shop, and while you can’t dine in, this is the next best thing. For $16, get a crunchy baguette stuffed with your choice of chicken or pork-neck schnitzel, as well as zingy Italian slaw, lemon, mustard and chilli. Plus, some crisps on the side.

To drink, there’ll be an excellent selection of cocktails to-go, including Aperol Spritzes, Negronis, Margaritas and more. And, as usual, you can peruse the wine wall for a few takeaway bottles.

When you’re done, pick up a few scoops from the neighbouring Gelateria Primavera.

From 11am until sold out, Friday to Sunday.
