View on MapDinner by the pier just got better. Pipi’s Kiosk in Albert Park is hosting its second chef dining series across the next three months.
On Sunday August 18 the restaurant will welcome Aaron Turner of Geelong’s Thai barbeque eatery Songbird and former fine diner Igni. Alongside Pipi’s Kiosk executive chef Jordan Clay, Turner will create a menu inspired by northern Thai cuisine. There'll be som tum (papaya salad), gai yang (grilled chicken) and pork crackling served with nam prik num roast chilli dip. Book here.
Up next, on Sunday September 15, Almay Jordaan – behind Neighbourhood Wine and Old Palm Liquor – is working with a braai to serve up a South African-style barbeque. Over four courses, she will make coconut creamed lentils; grilled rockling with Cape Malay spices; green mango, peanut and tamarind salad with dried venison; and more. Book here.
The last instalment of the series will see chef Johnson Wong travel from Malaysia to plate up the flavours of his Michelin-starred Penang restaurant Gen for dinner on October 5 and lunch the following day. Together, Clay and Wong will create a menu championing their respective restaurants’ fish-focused dishes. Book here.
Prices for bookings are yet to be confirmed. Drinks will be sold at bar prices.
