Chef-napped! Africola's Duncan Welgemoed at Kong

One of Adelaide – and Australia’s – best chefs will be in the kitchen at one of Melbourne's favourite restaurants for one day only.

After visiting Adelaide’s Africola last year, Kong’s Benjamin Cooper has snatched its colourful chef/owner, Duncan Welgemoed, for a lunch and back-to-back dinners at the Richmond diner.

Welgemoed will cook up an African-accented seven-course feast for $75 per person. After a cocktail on arrival, dinners will be served wok-fried edamame; woodfire-roasted skate wing with African belachan leaves; slow-cooked short rib cooked in a traditional South African potjie (small pot), and experience “Chocolate Heaven” to finish: smoked chocolate mousse, banana, coconut and dulche de leche.

There'll also be a supply of limited edition Moondog beers, such as the Jaffawokky (New England black IPA) and Thunder Lips (Yuzu Red IPA), available on the day.

There are three two-hour seatings available, all on April 29: noon, 6pm or 8:30pm.
