In an effort to raise funds for the people (and animals) impacted by the fires, North Fitzroy cafe Lagotto is hosting a Sunday bake sale with sibling venues Congress and Future Future, and two north-side bakeries. One hundred per cent of proceeds will be donated to the CFA and Wildlife Victoria.
Lagotto will be serving coffee and Italian dessert favourites such as cannoli, biscotti, bomboloni (Italian filled doughnuts) and crostoli (crisp pastry shaped into thin twisted ribbons, deep-fried and sprinkled with powdered sugar). There’ll also be yuzu-custard mochi (a Japanese rice cake) from Future Future.
Congress will be contributing sausage rolls, and there’ll be baguettes, wholemeal pain miche (French sourdough), croissants and biscuits from Fitzroy North’s Loafer Bread and Collingwood’s To Be Frank.
If you’re planning to bring your doggo along, there’ll be pup-friendly treats too.
