Bruce Slorach’s Botanica

Fri 7th September, 2018 – Sun 21st October, 2018
Hamilton Regional Art Gallery
107 Brown Street, Hamilton
A collection of new works on paper, plus textiles and furniture from the former creative director of Mambo.

Multimedia artist Bruce Slorach’s 30-year career has spanned the arts, design, textiles and even home furnishings.

Slorach is one half of the duo behind Sydney textile house Utopia Goods and his work, which draws heavily on his childhood spent exploring the bush around western Victoria, has been exhibited nationally and internationally.

Australian flora and fauna feature heavily throughout his diverse designs, which straddle the whimsical and the wild.

Slorach’s CV is just as varied; having studied fine art at the Victorian College of the Arts, he spent several years in the ’90s as creative director of iconic surfwear label Mambo, before launching design agency Deuce Design, and eventually his Paddington store with partner Sophie Tatlow.

Join him for the opening of his latest exhibition Botanica – featuring his new works on paper, along with a three-dimensional display of textiles and furniture – and an artist’s talk from 6pm on Thursday September 13.

Botanica runs at Hamilton Gallery from September 7 to October 21. More information here.
