Week two of the eight-week series features dishes from Maha, Park Street Pasta and Wine and Burch & Purchese.

Broadsheet has proudly partnered with high-end delivery service Providoor on an exclusive eight-week series of Special Edition Boxes.

Featuring a range of dishes from dozens of Melbourne’s best restaurants, Special Edition Boxes see weekly hand-picked selections of the city’s best dishes delivered in one box. Each week for eight weeks, a different themed box will be announced. Each box feeds two, and is available in two versions - meat-eaters and vegetarian, plus the option of pairing beverages.

The series kicked-off on October 14 with Baos, Buns and Burgers, featuring goodies from Tokyo Tina, Ish, Tipo00, Gingerboy, the Botanical Hotel and Sunda.

For week two, we’re aligning with Derby Day (Oct 31) and partnering with Shane Delia’s middl-eastern-inspired Maha, the European-leaning Park Street Pasta and Wine in South Melbourne, and sweet treats from South Yarra’s award-winning Burch and Purchese Sweet Studio.

The meat-eaters version of the exclusive Derby Day box comes loaded with Maha’s Moroccan semolina crumpets with whipped cod roe and black tobiko; Australian king prawns with harissa, pine nuts and coriander dressing; prawn crackers with toasted rice, fennel and zaatar zhough mayo; and hummus, za'atar, and Cobram Estate olive oil with fresh Iraqi flatbread.

That’s followed by Park Street Pasta and Wine’s agnolotti dal plin, with chicken and pancetta, sage butter, and parmesan. Pair it with asparagus, parmesan custard and pangrattato, and gem lettuce with pistachio, vincotto and pecorino romano. Finish it off with Burch and Purchese’s signature B&P Tube Dessert, featuring layers of coconut, passionfruit, ginger and mint.

The vegetarian version of the box see’s Maha offer up Moroccan semolina crumpets, almond tarator and chives; vegan pumpkin and lentil dumplings with creamy cashew tahini, burnt “butter”, smoked pepper and herbs; and hummus, za'atar, and Cobram Estate olive oil with fresh Iraqui flatbread.

From there Park Street Pasta and Wine plate up triangoli al primavera, featuring garden peah, ricotta and broadbean, along with sides of asparagus, parmesan custard and pangrattato, and gem lettuce with pistachio, vincotto and pecorino romano. Burch and Purchese’s B&P Tube Dessert, with layers of coconut, passionfruit, ginger and mint, ties off the box with a bow.

Each Derby Day box comes with the option of levelling up to include drink options.

The Derby Day box must be ordered by Thursday 29 Oct, and will be delivered on Saturday 31 Oct - right in time for home and picnic celebrations.

Boxes will be delivered on Saturdays only, and are currently available to be delivered to Metro Melbourne, Geelong, Greater Geelong and the Mornington Peninsula. Check Providoor to confirm your location.
