The Book of Mormon at Princess Theatre

What do the creators of South Park do when they turn their attention to Broadway? Send a pair of Mormon missionaries as far from Salt Lake City as possible, of course. The result is The Book of Mormon, a musical that’s irreverent, sharp and frequently profane – so much so that it's kept audiences talking for over a decade.

The production first landed in Melbourne in 2015, breaking the Princess Theatre’s record for the highest-selling on-sale period in the venue’s 159-year history. Now it returns, with six sessions per week until the end of June.

The cast sees Sean Johnston (Hairspray) as Elder Price and Nick Cox (Beauty and the Beast) as the bumbling Elder Cunningham, with Paris Leveque making her professional stage debut as Nabulungi. Tom Struik, Simbarashe Matshe and Augie Tchantcho – reprising his role from the original Australian run – round out the ensemble.

The Book of Mormon’s stint at Princess Theatre runs until June 30. Tickets start at $49 and the showtimes are:

• Mondays: No shows.
• Tuesdays–Thursdays: 7pm
• Fridays: 7:30pm
• Saturdays: 2pm, 7:30pm
• Sundays: 1pm, 6:30pm
