Beyond the City

Thu 30th December, 2021 – Fri 31st December, 2021
Sidney Myer Music Bowl
Kings Domain Gardens, Linlithgow Avenue, Melbourne
Regional music festival Beyond the Valley is heading to Melbourne for two days of live music to ring in the new year with Pnau, Spacey Jane, Hayden James, Lime Cordiale and more.

Greet 2022 – and, more importantly, the end of 2021 – with a bang.

Back in August, music festival Beyond the Valley and organisers Untitled Group announced they were moving the regional festival – always held around New Year’s Eve – to an inner-city location. Now the dates and venue have been announced.

Beyond the City is taking over the grass at Sidney Myer Music Bowl and the surrounding parklands of Kings Domain. It comes after the government’s new, updated road map to reopening was unveiled, allowing major events and music festivals to proceed with no caps on fully vaxxed attendees once Victoria hits 90 per cent double-dosed.

That means it’ll be a fully standing event with live music, dancing allowed and no social-distancing pods to stick to. Expect your favourite artists spread out across the Main Stage, Dance Domain and Dr Dan’s stage.

Pnau and Spacey Jane are headlining day one with performances by Allday, Elizabeth Cambage, JK-47, Lovebirds, Motez, Sophiegrophy, Sycco and more. Then on New Year’s Eve, Hayden James and Lime Cordiale take to the stage, supported by Alice Ivy, Ball Park Music, Hot Dub Time Machine, Jaguar Jonze, Nina Las Vegas, Skin on Skin and heaps of other acts.

One dollar from each ticket sold will go towards Aime, which provides mentoring for First Nations high school students around the country to help close the gap in educational outcomes.
