Bamboo groves are an essential, storied part of the Japanese landscape, and bamboo weaving is one of the oldest technical skills to have originated in Japan. Bamboo: Tradition in Contemporary Form explores the sculptural, sensual shapes of contemporary Japanese bamboo art.

The sculpture and objects made out of the light, flexible material are accompanied by historical paintings, lacquer ware, musical instruments, woodblock prints and hand-printed books.
