Some of Melbourne’s best bakers are going on tour with Hank Marvin Market in July – here’s where you’ll find them.

Hank Marvin Market (named after the Cockney slang for “starving”) is rounding up some of Melbourne’s best bakers, pastry chefs and dessert-makers for their travelling Baker’s Exchange pop-up, which will be held at three different locations over three consecutive weekends this month.

You can expect to see heavy-hitters such as Cobb Lane Bakery and Prahran Market’s Q le Baker alongside up-and-comers such as Violet & Zaza and Kep Whitely. Get them while they’re hot.

Make a beeline for The Hamptons’s breakfast doughnut with scrambled eggs, porcini mushroom and truffle shards, or “The Malakoff” – a melted, crisp rye dome laden with Swiss raclette courtesy of Swiss Made. For the gluten intolerant, G-Free Doughnuts will be serving up gluten-free varieties.

The first location will be Moorabbin’s classic art-deco Kingston City Hall on July 6 and 7. Next up on July 13 and 14 is Woolstore + Co, an industrial warehouse in North Melbourne. The final instalment will take place on July 20 and 21 at Ripponlea Primary School in St Kilda East.

Entry is $2 (free for kids aged 16 and under), with a portion of the proceeds going to greyhound rescue centre Gumtree Greys and Ripponlea Primary School.
