Carlton restaurant Capitano has kicked off its Aperitivo Hour, featuring a rotating drinks list of palate-stimulating cocktails every weekend.
Each Saturday and Sunday from 3pm to 5pm, this happy hour spotlights lighter drinks that keep the ABV to a minimum but are still full of punchy flavours. You could find yourself sipping on a Chamomile Highball (blended whisky, chamomile oloroso sherry, vanilla and soda) or a non-alcoholic Seedlip Gimlet (with thyme cordial and sugar snap peas).
Guest bartenders will show up periodically too. On June 16, Campari Group’s Luca Baioni will host a special round in appreciation of the venerable Negroni.
Cocktails are $15 a pop, and Detroit-style square pizzas go for $5 or $6 per slice – toppings including pepperoni, mortadella, stracciatella and eggplant.
