AFLW Round 5 – Melbourne vs Brisbane Lions

Fri 2nd March, 2018
Casey Fields, Cranbourne
Price: Free entry

After a stellar debut season, which saw the NAB AFL Women’s competition attract huge interest, AFLW returns in 2018.

This fifth-round match between Melbourne and 2017 runners-up the Brisbane Lions will take place at Casey Fields in Cranbourne on Friday March 2. As well as being a rematch of the pair’s clash on the same ground nearly a year ago to the day, when the Brisbane Lions came out on top by 15 points

The game will mark the season debut of Eden Zanker, Melbourne’s first pick in the draft. Based in the small regional Victoria town of Natya, and having only played football for one year, Zanker had a breakout season in the 2017 Under-18 Championships, finishing the competition as the leading goal kicker. She’s expected to develop into a key forward for Melbourne.

Bring the family and make the most of the free kids activities and entertainment. There will be face-painting, a DJ and more. Grab dinner at the Afghan Rahimi Restaurant on Walker Street on the way through – try the signature mantu dumplings.

Entry is free.
