This May, A Plus Market is returning to its home of Coburg Town Hall. Its end-of-autumn event sees more than 50 stalls coming together to cater to people who wear sizes 16 to 32 and above.
There will be a large selection of community-run preloved fashion stalls, as well as an exciting line-up of independent labels that are size inclusive. Melbourne-made designers Sanct, Rosita and Less Common will return, as well as quirky interstate labels Six Times Seven and Hot Chips the Label. This will be the market debut of elevated basics label Sundays Only.
Accessories haven’t been left off the list, with size-inclusive jewellers Wax Echo Studio and Violet Designs in attendance. There will also be plus-size belts and on-the-day belt repairs by Adapt and Adorn.
But it’s not only a fashion market, it’s also a community event. There’ll be food and drink offerings, rest areas, and art and community stalls. First Nations streetwear label Gammin Threads will be running DIY workshops where you can customise tees, jumpers and tote bags.
What’s more, there will also be a concierge service so shoppers can receive one-on-one guidance to help them navigate the stalls. As always, entry is $5 – or pay what you can, no questions asked.
