The 2017 Lavazza Italian Film Festival (LIFF) returns to Palace Cinemas for its 18th year.

For LIFF 2017 Greta Scacchi is both a festival ambassador and stars in of one of the program's standout films, Tenderness (La tenerezza). It is set in post-World War Two Naples. She will also be a part of the festival’s inaugural Bulgari Critics Choice Award jury alongside fellow actor Damian Walshe-Howling, ABC Radio National’s Jason Di Rosso and more.

Those with a hankering for la dolce vita can enjoy films such as the funny and romantic opening-night selection Let Yourself Go! (Lasciati Andare), Silvio Soldini’s Emma (direct from its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival), and Naples ’44, a documentary narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch. LIFF will conclude with a special 20th-anniversary screening of Roberto Benigni’s Academy Award-winning triumph Life is Beautiful (La Vita è Bella).
