These days, all it takes is a single click to download music. Sometimes you don’t even have to click at all (we’re looking at you, U2).

That’s why there’s such a resurgence in humble vinyl at the moment – we’re remembering how nice it is to feel, have and keep.

This Saturday is Record Store Day, that one day of the year when record stores and a handful of music shops across Melbourne celebrate with heaps of great events, including exclusive in-store signings, discounts, DJ sets, live music and limited releases.

Show your support by getting rummaging or just coming along to listen to some great music. Here’s what’s happening on Record Store Day in Melbourne.

SOUTH

Alley Tunes

Huge shipments have been arriving all week from New York and Germany so you can get your hands on some never-before-seen stock. The store isn’t giving too much away, but apparently there’s also going to be an exclusive release of a Melbourne-based dance-pop artist. Watch the Facebook page for the latest updates. There’s also 15 per cent off records storewide and crates of $2 records.
