An outdoor cinema is coming to Portsea for the summer.
The Barefoot Cinema will open at Point Nepean National Park, on a large field near Quarantine Station (where the Portsea Polo is held each year), with views of Port Phillip Bay.
Movies will show from December 27 to 30, January 2 to 6 and January 26 to 28.
The film line-up includes classics such as The Castle, Anchorman, Happy Gilmore, Almost Famous, Shawshank Redemption, Love Actually, and The Lion King.
There will be food trucks, including Mamma Van, Martha’s Table and The Burglary burger truck.
The cinema will have a fully licensed bar, plus a “candy bar” with paleo snacks from The Bar Counter, pressed juices from The Juice Lab, and chocolates and confectionary from The Naked Truth.
Doors open at 6pm each night, and the movies start around sunset at 8.45pm. Live music acts are scheduled to play throughout the cinema season.
The VIP area has reclining seats, and there’s unreserved chairs available, or cinema-goers can bring their own picnic rugs, beanbags and seating.
Entry for children under five is free. General admission tickets are $30 each, and those aged between five and 15 get in for $20.
