Fans of electronic music were astounded by the line-up at Pitch Music and Arts festival last year. The breadth of heavy hitters on the bill was above and beyond what one expects from a festival on its first outing.

The 2018 line-up will see the festival return with an equally impressive spread. There are some huge names this year, love ‘em or hate ‘em. Sven Väth and Seth Troxler will be there, but it’s the next layer down where the gold lies.

Highlights include a live set from Floating Points. He blew the roof off Meredith 2015 with a DJ set of rarely heard disco treasures, but his live set is a more mercurial beast featuring swathes of organs and analogue synthesisers.

Bicep may have come up on the back of killer edits of obscure electronic jams, but in the wake of their debut album they’ll be bringing a live show of their own.

Perennially cool tastemaker Motor City Drum Ensemble is over from Germany, while real Motor City resident Moodymann will keep the freak flag waving.

Kim Ann Foxman is back after her set at Winter Freedom Time. She’s known for her haunting melodic techno productions and vocals, which are laced with acidic synths and unhinged rave ups.

UK garage legend DJ EZ, considered by many to be one of the most technically gifted DJs on the planet, will be along to show many of the young upstarts on the bill how it’s done. With UK garage having fallen out of favour in Australia over the past decade, this set is our pick for dark-horse set of the festival.

Locals get a sweet run with Kllo, CC:DISCO! and Tornado Wallace. And the Wax’ o Paradiso gang are back in their Dystopio guise, the apocalyptic evil twin to their main act.

All these will be joined by the previously announced the Black Madonna, as well as Ben UFO, Marcel Dettmann, Heidi and many more.

Final tickets available here.

Stay tuned for Broadsheet's gallery and review, landing Tuesday.
