Aunty Meredith has announced Aldous Harding as the first act for MMF 2017.
The New Zealand singer-songwriter first came to attention with a collection of understated folk songs on her self-titled debut.
But after signing to legendary British label 4AD, her music has taken on a brooding intensity.
Her new album, Party, moves between hushed confessionals backed by spare electronic drum patterns and soaring ballads.
The power of Harding’s voice was only hinted at on her debut, but now transforms restrained compositions into towering torch songs.
We’re looking forward to the Supernatural Amphitheatre being brought to a stand still in December. Get in the ballot. Don’t miss out.
Meredith Music Festival 2017 takes place December 8 to 10 in Meredith, Victoria. Enter the ballot here.
