An outdoor ice-skating rink, large enough to hold 150 people at a time, will pop up on the Yarra River Terrace this winter.
After the success of last year’s pop-up, River Rink is returning for a four-week stint from June 18 to July 17.
Joining the rink this year is the River Rink Village, which will offer a line-up of winter-warming food and beverages. Federation Square’s Riverland Bar will serve mulled wine and Taxi Kitchen will offer hot waffles. Pilgrim Bar will serve hot toddies if you’re looking for something with a kick. A crew of food trucks and stalls including Mr Burger, St. ALi, Señor BBQ and Popstic ice-cream will be on site also.
The River Rink will operate alongside a number of Fed Square Winter Festival events including The Light in Winter program, the Solstice Celebration and a camp fire. Art installations, live performances, music, storytelling, morning meditation and more are scheduled from June 1 to July 17.
The River Rink is suitable for all ages and skating capabilities. Skating sessions last 45 minutes and begin on the hour, every hour. The River Rink will open every day from 10am to 10pm.
Tickets are on sale now and will be available at the ticket booth at the Yarra River Terrace. Skate rentals are inclusive.
