Another weekend on the Plains, another year of raised boots, cracking open tinnies with friends and sprawling out on the grass at Inspiration Point as the sun sinks behind the wind turbines.
A few highlights (of many) included Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks winning over the Saturday afternoon crowd, Total Giovanni (decked out all in white) commanding the hips of every individual in hearing range and 21-year-old Something For Kate playing a compelling set (despite swapping out Monsters for a cover of Billie Jean).
Watching close to 10,000 people lose their shit to In the Navy under the stars is a bizarre, once-in-a-lifetime sight to behold, made even better thanks to a giant disco ball flying out over the crowd from the roof of the Supernatural Amphitheatre. Following a soulful segue from beautifully maned DJ Edd Fisher, Detroit legend Theo Parrish took the crowds right through 'til morning. Finally, on Monday arvo, thousands collapsed in their beds, smudged with glitter, some dirt and feeling very, very content.
