Update (Thursday 4 October): This competition is now closed. Broadsheet would like to thank everyone who entered, and congratulate our winner James B.
It’s time for a getaway.
We’re offering one lucky person (and a friend) the chance to explore some of the more provocative cultural institutions in and around the city.
Your day will start when you pick up the new BMW X4 at your local BMW dealership. Once you’ve loaded your bags into the self-closing trunk, head down to Igni on the Bellarine. There, chef Aaron Turner will prepare eight innovative courses using local ingredients and fire, with the judicious application of matched wines. The award-winning Igni is regularly included in collections of Australia’s best restaurants – if you haven’t been, you won’t soon forget it.
Once appropriately fed and watered, bunk down at the Lon Retreat and Spa, a luxury retreat on 200 acres of farmland at Point Lonsdale. We’ve reserved the best of the best suites for you – the Alto, with its panoramic ocean views over Port Phillip Bay, The Rip and Point Nepean. Your room has its own private balcony and double-sided fireplace, and warm water from the mineral springs running beneath the farm is fed directly into the bathtub.
The next morning, check out and direct the BMW X4 to the TarraWarra Museum of Art in the Yarra Valley and the museum’s sixth annual TarraWarra Biennial, Will to Form, which collects works by 24 of the country’s most provocative artists. Curator Anthony Fitzpatrick will take you on a guided tour of the show, discussing the intricacies of artworks by Kusum Normoyle and Hiromi Tango, Vicki Couens and Mike Parr.
The weekend away will take place on October 20–21.
