Update (Tuesday 28 August): This competition is now closed. Broadsheet would like to thank all who entered, and congratulate our lucky winner Melanie S.

The Melbourne Museum’s Revolutions: Records and Rebels exhibition is a chance to revisit the music and the madness of the tumultuous 1960s. Through the multi-sensory exhibit, which has been extended to October 6, visitors get a taste of how rebels in the realms of music, fashion, art and politics redefined the culture.

To celebrate the exhibition, Broadsheet and Museums Victoria are offering one winner and a guest an eclectic staycation in Melbourne the weekend of September 14 and 15 , showcasing businesses around the city that are doing things a little differently.

First up is your own private tour of Revolutions: Records and Rebels. Featuring over 600 items from the period on display, including John Lennon’s outfit from the Sgt. Pepper album cover, Mick Jagger’s signature 1972 stage costume and a guitar smashed on stage by The Who’s Pete Townshend, it’s a special opportunity to take an immersive journey through the decade that changed the world.

Then there’s dinner for two at Magic Mountain Saloon on Little Collins Street, in the heart of the CBD. The menu features informal, inventive takes on Thai and Australian cuisine – and there’s an extensive wine list at the bar to keep the party going until late.

You’ll spend the night at QT Melbourne on Russell Street, located in the high-end fashion district of Australia’s most creatively charged city. You’ll each receive a gift voucher (with five classes on each voucher) for hip-hop yoga at Yoga 213 in Richmond, for a non-traditional session that’ll get your blood pumping.

To cap off your weekend, browse through the racks of new and used vinyl at Wah Wah Records on Smith Street in Fitzroy, where you’ll receive a $100 voucher.

This deluxe staycation is reserved for the weekend of September 14–15. The competition runs from July 19 to August 21, with the winner notified by August 23. Melbourne entries only.
