Win: A Specially Curated Day at the Melbourne Cup Carnival for You and Three Mates

Sure, anyone can attend the Melbourne Cup Carnival with a general admission ticket and make a fine day of it. But Victoria Racing Club members have the best time, with exclusive perks and experiences that aren’t available to the public.

If you’re curious about becoming a member, or just want to experience what members can, even for a day, here’s your chance. We’re giving one lucky reader the chance to win a special day out in the Members Enclosure at Flemington Racecourse on Crown Oaks Day, Thursday, November 5.

The winner and three friends will get to experience being a VRC member for the day, including all the perks members get that the general public can’t buy. Start the day with a croissant and coffee from The Bakery on the ground floor of The Club Stand, then explore everything that’s going down on the Front Lawn, from exhilarating races to the glamorous Fashions on the Field competition.

The newly renovated Club Stand Lobby Bar is the prime spot to grab a drink before getting the full VRC Member experience. If you want to go all-out and celebrate your special prize, head over to the GH Mumm Champagne Bar and pop open a bottle against panoramic views of the Melbourne skyline and Flemington Straight.

If you want a more substantial bite to eat, head to the famous Birdcage – a must for any visit to the Melbourne Cup Carnival for those who have access. Neon-lit Japanese-fusion restaurant Yakimono has a pop-up with canapes near the Asahi marquee, and there’ll be plenty of live entertainment on The Birdcage Stage. You might even spot a celebrity or two (keep your cool).

The main event is the prestigious Group 1 Crown Oaks race, featuring the country’s best three-year-old fillies galloping over 2500 metres for their share of a $1 million prize pool and trophy. Make sure to find a good spot to watch, then afterwards head to The Roof Garden for Flemington’s signature cocktail, The Golden Gallop, before heading to The Elms Live Stage presented by Maccas for the headline entertainment after the final race of the day. 

The full prize includes a one-day membership for four people on Crown Oaks Day; access to the Members Enclosure, including The Club Stand, The Grandstand and The Birdcage; and access to headline entertainment after the last race at The Elms Live Stage presented by Maccas. The total prize is valued at $2000.
